16 Jun 1721 - Event
Mentioned in the will of Testator, William Holland.
"Maryland Wills and Probate Records, 1604-1878"
The question is - which Thomas Durbin is he referring? Thomas, son of Samuel, had not yet been born (born to Samuel and Ann in 1732).
It could've been a brother of Samuel, but I have yet to find record of a brother named "Thomas". There are those who show a "Thomas" as a sibling of Samuel.
There's also Thomas William Durbin, claimed to be the father of Samuel, yet also claimed to have died in 1699. I haven't seen any evidence for that date yet.
There's also the issue of Samuel Durbin Jr. - there are those who claim his middle name is Thomas, which would seem likely to place the same middle name for Sr. [?]
Either way, there was a Thomas Durbin, who knew William Holland of Maryland, that must have lived in the area.
"6th - I give and bequeath unto Thomas Durbin one mare colt & all future increase."

1890 Minster, Ohio Census was destroyed in a fire... would've been helpful with Holtgrevens.
I just found the 1870 Census (Minster, Jackson Twp) showing a male born to August and Dina Holtgreven. His name was Frances and he was born in 1869. He must've died before the 1880 census.
George Borgman, Bernadina's younger brother is also listed as living with them.
Also note that Carrie's dad is listed as a "Teamster" on this census.

After the contruction of The Ohio Southern Railroad in 1892. George Geyer laid out an addition of lots on his farm which was located along the right-of-way of the railroad in section twenty-one Clay township. The addition being located in the midst of a large agricultural region, soon became the site for a thriving village. A store and warehouse were constructed, and also a hotel and saloon. In a few years it was incorporated under the name of GEYER."

Our citizens were startled last Saturday at the announcement that George Geyer, one of the best known, as well one of the most prominent farmers of Clay township had passed to the Great Beyond. His illness of six days duration was doubtless the result of injuries sustained in an accident. While out driving, his horse took fright at a passing automobile and he was thrown from the vehicle. At the time he was supposed to have sustained only slight injuries but in a day or two afterward he became quite ill and he rapidly failed. His death occured [sic] Satur morning at 5:30. The deceased own a large body of land in Clay township and he had a wide influence. He was a founder of the village of Geyer where he resided ever since it was platted. The funeral took place from the late home of the deceased on Monday, Nov. 2, Rev. Mr. Kiester, officiating. The remains were interred in St. Joseph's cemetery near Wapakoneta."

The parents of George Geyer III were:
George II (1814-1893) & Catherine (Klopfenstein) Geyer (1820-1887)
They were both born in Elsass (Alsace), France. Click here for history on Alsace.
1850 Census (Clay, Auglaize County, Ohio) lists "France" as place of birth for George and Catherine.
1860 Census (Clay, Auglaize County, Ohio) lists "France" as place of birth for George and Catherine.
1870 Census (Clay, Auglaize County, Ohio) lists "France" as place of birth for George and Catherine.
1880 Census (Clay, Auglaize County, Ohio) states that both parents were born in "Elsass"
_________________________________________________________________
This is the first census (below) that George II did not answer "place of birth" himself on the census.
George III answered "place of parents birth" on this census.
1900 Census (Clay, Auglaize County, Ohio) George III claims his parents as being born in Germany.
1910 Census (Clay, Auglaize County, Ohio) both George II & III have passed and Salome is now 64 years of age and answering the census question. She states that her parents were both born in Ohio on this census while an 1850 census shows her parents as answering "France" as place of birth.
