* There is a lot of speculation concerning the father of Samuel Durbin. While my personal research is nowhere near conclusion, I have found the memo of William Durbin (Kensington, MD) to be the most unbiased answer to date.
You can read his memo by clicking HERE.
I'm also trying to sort out all of the recorded facts and you can see them by clicking HERE.
Kerry William Bate has also completed an extraordinary amount of research into "Thomas Durbin". You can review his research by clicking HERE.

Below are pictures said to be the home of Samuel & Ann (Logsdon) Durbin.
Samuel and Ann's house, built in 1741 still stands, two miles outside of Westminster, and is a shrine of the Methodist Church of America. This is a wonderful home, still standing, in good condition. There are roadside signs pointing to it's location about two miles out from Westminster, MD.

While the link above shows his residence as Knox County, Ohio the 1820 Census, dated 7 Aug 1820, lists Daniel as residing in Cross Creek, Washington County, Pennsylvania. I suspect the author of the book (linked above) may have been estimating the time frame.

Ruth Ann Durbin (1838- )
Ruth married Hermanus Hulsema on 14 Feb 1871 in Auglaize County, Ohio.
Ruth and Herman had a son, Basil A. Hulsema, in August of 1873.
Ruth is listed on the 1880 United States Census as being sick with "consumption" which we know as tuberculosis today.
Basil A. Hulsema is listed on the 1900 United States Census as living with Ruth's step-sister, Elizabeth C (Durbin) Biracree and her husband Bernard Biracree.
George A. Schultz (b. 1890), son of James & Margaret E. (Durbin) Schultz (b. 1858), another sister of Daniel Basil Durbin, is also listed on the same 1900 census as living with the Biracree family.
At this point, from the above, it is assumed that Ruth Ann died sometime between 1880 and 1900.
